Excessive sebum production, follicle blockage, infection and colonization of bacteria Propionibacterium all lead to acne and inflammation.

Before performing a skin treatment to eliminate acne, you should know the types of acne that appear on the face. This facilitates treatment to get rid of acne effectively and efficiently. The following are the types of acne that may appear on your face:

1. Blackheads. Blackheads are the scientific name of clogged pores. Blackheads are open pores that are enlarged and blackened. The black is not dirt but it is a porous plug that changes color due to oxidation by the air. Whiteheads have the same cause but the pores are closed, so they look like small white bumps under the skin. Acne blackheads are due to dead skin cells and excess oil glands in the skin.

2. Ordinary acne. This is the classic type of acne that is easily recognized. There are small pink bumps or redness. This occurs because of clogged pores which become infected with bacteria that remains on the skin surface from washcloths, makeup brushes, fingers or from your phone. Stress, hormones and humid air can increase the likelihood of acne by causing skin infections that produce oil – which is a breeding ground for bacteria. Acne caused by hormones usually appears around the jaw and chin.

3. Acne stone. This type of acne consists of large inflamed bumps on your face. Acne is indeed very damaging your appearance — not only physically, but also to your confidence. Usually acne is due to genetic factors, such as having over-active oil glands or skin cells can not regenerate as fast as normal skin.

4. Sinus. This type of acne is the most severe. Often found in the grooves next to nose, jaw and neck. Abnormalities form as linear lines, sometimes with a 10 cm length. These contain several channels that connect fistel sinus or sinuses with the skin’s surface. Healing this acne takes many months, and sometimes years. It can recur again when you experience inflammation. Sinus acne should be treated with surgery.

Identifying the type of acne that appears on your face helps you prevent mistakes and make an informed choice when choosing a skin treatment.
